Philanthropy advances MIT Sailing’s mission to prepare students for leadership, teamwork, and excellence on the water and beyond. Private support sustains our fleet and pavilion, strengthens varsity and recreational programs, and helps keep sailing accessible to every MIT student.

Foundation and corporate philanthropy
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology welcomes philanthropic partnerships from foundations and corporations whose priorities align with MIT’s educational mission. Gifts may support instruction, facilities, equipment, and competition in ways that reflect shared objectives and Institute policies.

Make checks payable to Massachusetts Institute of Technology. On the memo line, write “MIT Sailing” or a specific fund from the list above. For the correct gift-processing address and any lockbox or payable-line requirements, contact Matt Lindblad at [email protected]—do not mail checks to the pavilion street address; it is not set up for gift processing.
Wire or ACH transfer

Grants from a donor-advised fund
To recommend a grant to MIT in support of sailing, contact Matt Lindblad at [email protected] for MIT’s legal name, employer identification number (EIN), and the wording Institute Advancement prefers on grant documentation.
